3. Sintering

The green parts are then placed on plates or directly on a conveyor belt running through a high temperature furnace. This sintering operation consists of heating the component at a temperature slightly lower than the melting point of the main material in order to generate a metallurgical binding (diffusion) between particles without distorting the component.
